The Lowell Bowling teams kicked off their 2018-2019 regular season on Wednesday, December 5 at The Bowling Alley in Ionia, against OK White Conference rival Cedar Springs. In the 2017-2018 season, the Lowell and Cedar Springs Boys finished number 1 and number 2, respectively, in a closely fought season that was not decided until the Conference Tournament in February. Both teams then lost their senior anchors to graduation, and Lowell graduated two additional members of their starting lineup.
During this first match of the 2018-219 season, Coach Clark identified the need to work on the mechanics of timing and hitting targets downlane, and consistency in spare shooting. The Boys did put up two respectable Baker games of 176 and 190. Junior Aaron Fritsma bowled the high game of the day for Lowell, with a 198; Junior Carson Clark rolled high games of 192 and 196.
The Bowling Teams will be back in action at 3:30 p.m. on Thursday, December 6 at The Bowling Alley in Ionia, in a non-conference match against Belding High School.
