The Lowell Red Arrow Bowling teams were in action on Wednesday, February 6 against the Rangers of Forest Hills Central at Eastbrook Lanes for the first Conference match in more than two weeks, due to the recent inclement weather.
The Red Arrow Boys got off to a good start, winning the first Baker game and losing the second by just one point, to take a 6-4 lead heading into the Regular 2-game set. In the individual matches, the Boys took 4 of 5 points and total in game one, and 3 of 5 points and total in game two, for an overall 23-7 victory.
Taking points in the match were: Aaron Fritsma, 2; Xavier Taylor, 1; Ryan Slopsema, 1; DJ Simpson, 2; and Collin Clark, 1. High games during the match were bowled by: Ryan Slopsema, 150; Xavier Taylor, 156; Aaron Fritsma, 164 and 183; DJ Simpson, 189 and 200; and Collin Clark, 211.
The Boys B team was also in action, and continued to show progress. They won the first Baker game, lost the second by just 3 pins, and took total, for a 6-4 lead heading into the Regular matches. In the two Regular games, the boys won 5 of 10 individual points, but lost match totals for an overall 11-19 loss. Earning individual points were: Chase Anderson, 2; Lucas Sloma, 2; and Asher Peters, 1.
Weather permitting, the Bowling teams are scheduled to be in action again at 3:30 p.m. Thursday, February 7 in a weather-rescheduled Conference match against Greenville at The Bowling Alley of Ionia, and in the Mona Shores Invitational at Sherman Lanes in Muskegon on Saturday, February 9 at 9 a.m.
