The MHSAA Division 2 Region 7 tournament took place on Saturday, February 23 at Northway Lanes in Muskegon. This was the final event of the Red Arrow High School Bowling Season .

There were 98 bowlers from 17 schools participating. The format was 6 individual Regular games for a “total pin” ranking; the top 10 individual scorers move on to the State Individual Tournament next weekend. Congratulations go out to OK White Conference rivals from Northview, Dan Frey and Wyatt Gee, and from FH Northern, Carson Hommes, on their top 3 finishes. We wish you luck in the State Tournament next weekend.

The location of the tournament changed this year, and the lane conditions were challenging for all, as the top score averaged nearly 25 pins per game below last years 1st place total bowled by Red Arrow graduate Carson Clark, and the “cut” to the top 10 was 15+ pins average per game lower than prior years. The 6 members of the Lowell team participating struggled for consistency and were unable to gain any traction. Junior Collin Clark hung around “the cut” right up to the final game, where he suffered several big splits and finished with a 136 to end up in 23rd place, 85 pins off the cut.

Thank you and best of luck to the future for our 5 senior team members: Chase Anderson, Jasen Schaeffer, Ryan Slopsema, Xavier Taylor, and DJ Simpson. Thank you and best wishes, also to team member Jakob Reynolds, who will be leaving Lowell at the end of the school year.
