Red Arrows News · Senior Student-Athletes of the Week – Morrison Ismond and Quinne Duhr

Morrison Ismond

Above: Morrison running track in 2017 at Greenville

Our male senior student-athlete of the week is Morrison Ismond. Morrison played JV soccer his freshman and sophomore year, varsity soccer his junior year, he will also be running track when it comes up later in the year making it his fourth year of track, and he also has been a standout for our cross country team senior year.

Morrison’s favorite sports memory was singing “Sweet Caroline” on the bus rides to his JV and varsity soccer games.

Morrison running at the Bob Perry Memorial Invitational this year. His favorite sport is cross-country.

His favorite athlete is Dave Wottle. Wottle won the gold medal in the 800 meter run at the 1972 Summer Olympics in Munich.

Morrison’s academic and athletic achievements in high school are being an honor roll student, third all-time in the 2-mile at LHS (track), third all-time at LHS in the 3 mile for Cross Country and hopes he will be first by the end of the season.

Morrison is undecided where he wants to go to college.

Morrison’s favorite non-sport memory is hanging out with friends talking about anything and everything.

Quinne Duhr

Above: Quinne on senior night for cheer.
Quinne will be a four year cheerleader at LHS. Here is a list of sports she has played in her time at LHS.
– JV Cheer (9)
– Varsity Cheer (10,11,12)
– JV Tennis (10)
– Varsity Tennis (11, going for 12 this spring)
Quinne’s favorite sports memory was in the 2015 football semi-finals at Alma (her sophomore year). “It was freezing cold, snowing, and I couldn’t feel my toes, but the energy of that game never wavered. The fans were so into the game, the boys came back to beat the only team we had lost to during the regular season, and the win sent us to Ford Field. It was an awesome game, and an incredible experience.”
Quinne has a love for any game that is fast-paced and competitive, so football, basketball hockey, she says you name it.
Her favorite athlete is Brenden Duhr. “My brother is a three-sport athlete, and he gives each practice and game everything he has. He’s committed, determined, and inspiring. Whenever I have a rough practice, I focus on how Brenden would handle the situation and go from there. He has the passion and the leadership necessary to succeed anywhere, and I can’t wait to see what he does in the future.”
Below: Quinne playing tennis in 2017
Her achievements in high school are she is a 3-time varsity cheer captain, varsity tennis sportsmanship award, most spirited award for both varsity cheer and JV tennis, LHS Interact president, senior class president, and a member of our NHS chapter.
Quinne plans on attending college for business administration and public communications after high school.
Finally, her favorite non-sport memory is Pink Arrow. “Our community is something special, and it’s such a blessing to be surrounded by the positivity and hope that is so prevalent during Pink Arrow.”
