We’re down to our final few senior student-athletes of the week that will be finished over the next few days. Even though the class of 2018 has graduated, and school is out, we still are excited to continue to celebrate the class of 2018.
AJ is our male senior-student athlete of the week. He has ran cross country and track & field sophomore through senior year and was a captain for the cross country team this past year. He enjoys running, but his favorite sport is hockey. Luke Glendening of the Detroit Red Wings is his favorite athlete.
His achievements at LHS include OK Conference Scholar Athlete, Honor Roll, National Honors Society, Summa Cum Laude, Model UN Division Champion, Parliamentary Procedure 3rd Place at States, Computer Programming Concepts 2nd Place at States, AP Scholar with Distinction. The Parliamentary Procedure and Computer Science awards were for BPA (Business Professionals of America). He also qualified for BPA Nationals for Computer Science.
His favorite memory as a student-athlete at LHS the look on Coach Judd’s face at Gainey this past year when I was the first runner around the corner where all the coaches stood since everyone in the front took a wrong turn. His favorite non-sports memory was being in the Peter Pan pit band his sophomore year. Later this summer, AJ will be attending Michigan State University to pursue a degree in Computer Science.

Abby McDowell is our female senior-student athlete of the week! Abby has been a part of the Lowell track & field and cross country teams during her time as an LHS student.
In the high jump, Abby recorded a 4’8″ jump which was 13th on Lowell’s athletics.net record board. In 2016, along with Autumn French, Megan Khodl, and Kathryn Miller, Abby was part of the #6 time in the 4X300 relay. In addition in the 4x200m relay, Abby along with Lizzie Kuhns, Autumn French, and Diana Roth recorded a top 10 time on the LHS board.
Abby was on honor roll throughout her time at LHS and played basketball her freshman year as well. Similar to AJ, she was also a part of the LHS National Honors Society chapter. Later this summer Abby will begin attending the University of Wisconsin. Thanks to J-Dubb’s Signature Subs for sponsoring our senior student-athletes of the week for 2017-2018.
