Red Arrows News · J-Dubbs’ Signature Subs Senior Student-Athletes of the Week – Dawn Kondor and Kenny Stump

The Class of 2018 has graduated, but we still have a few seniors to honor as senior student-athletes of the week. Our senior student-athletes of the week for this past week were Dawn Kondor and Kenny Stump.

Dawn Kondor

Our female senior-student athlete of the week is Dawn Kondor. Dawn was a member of our cross country team this past fall and has competed on the track & field team as well.

A cross country four-year runner, and two-year track & field runner, she was consistently a leader for LHS in cross country this past fall. At the Allendale Invitational, she ran a 20:57 which happened to be a PR for her!

Dawn’s academic achievements include being in the LHS chapter of National Honors Society and being on the honor roll throughout high school. She was also a part of the LHS Business Professionals of America parliamentary procedure team which placed 3rd this year at the state conference alongside Haley Nieuwkoop, Conner Meyers and AJ Brandt. She graduated with Summa Cum Laude honors from LHS this past Thursday!

Kenny Stump

Our male senior student-athlete of the week is Kenny Stump. Kenny was a member of our track & field team this past season as well as competed in cross country. His 400m time of 53.89 seconds is 4th on the record board. He ran an 18:16 at cross country regionals in 2017 and played basketball during the early years of high school.  Breaking into the 17 time range during cross country and breaking his 400 meter dash PR during track were some of his favorite accomplishments, and his favorite memory overall was when after regionals when the whole team went out to Heidi’s and did the corn maze

One of his favorite sports memories was when both guys and girls teams got personal bests at the Allendale Invitational. His favorite sport to be a part of is cross country because everyone on the team will cheer you on. He said his favorite athlete to run beside was Lucas Cossar because he improved so much during the summer, and it was a blast seeing him do so well during the meets.

Outside of athletics Kenny has been a part of choir at LHS, honor roll, as well several performances with the high school drama program. Recently, he performed as King Triton during the LHS production of the Little Mermaid this spring.  His plan after high school is to attend Grand Rapids Community College, where he hopes to pursue a career in theater. We wish both of these student-athletes the best of luck now that they have graduated. Red Arrows for Life! Thanks to J-Dubb’s Signature Subs of Lowell for sponsoring our senior student-athletes of the week!
