Red Arrows News · J-Dubbs’ Signature Subs Senior Student-Athletes of the Week – Connor Douma and Lauren Snarski

Article Written by Joel Fritsma (LHS Class of 2018)

Connor Douma

Connor is our featured male senior student-athlete of the week this week. He has had the opportunity to play baseball and football all four years at LHS alongside his twin brother Brady.

Without a doubt, defeating Forest Hills Central in that epic homecoming football come-from-behind victory his junior year happened to be his favorite sports memory.

Connor academically has really worked hard on his GPA. He has a 4.018 going into his final trimester at the high school. Athletically, Connor was named all-conference for football following his senior season.

The next step in his life will involve continuing his studies while playing football at Hope College. We wish Connor the best of luck as he continues his hard work out on the gridiron, and academically in whatever career path he decides to take on.

Lauren Snarski

Our female senior student-athlete of the week, Lauren, has devoted three of her four years at LHS to tennis in the spring. She started playing her sophomore year.

Lauren told us that playing second doubles with her partner Jada Murley, and being voted most dedicated by the team her junior year is by far her favorite sports memory.

Tennis is such a fun sport to play, but when it comes to watching sports on TV, Lauren said hockey happens to be her favorite. Staying close to the topic of tennis, Lauren did say tennis sensation Serena Williams is her favorite athlete.

When it comes to academics, Lauren is “honored” to be on the honor roll for all four years. She was also named as one of the few freshman students of the month, and earned her way to becoming a National Honors Society member her sophomore year.

Following her final weeks here at the high school, Lauren explained to us that Michigan State University or Saginaw Valley State University are her top two college choices. Her goal is to graduate with a bachelors degree in food science.

To wrap things up, Lauren added on that going on the Costa Rica trip with the spanish class this past summer was her favorite non-sports memory. We hope nothing but the best for these two as they move on to their next step in life to become leaders of tomorrow! Thank you to J-Dubb’s Signature Subs of Lowell for sponsoring our Senior Student-Athletes of the Week.
