This week, Nikki Paulus and Travis happen to be our two senior student-athletes of the week presented by JDubb’s Signature Subs of Lowell!
Travis one of our multi-sport athlete here at the high school. He has played both baseball and basketball all four years of his HS career. In the fall of 2014, his freshman year, Travis also competed on the freshman football team. His favorite sports memory came in his junior year when him and the guys were crowned district champions in baseball.
Basketball just so happens to be his favorite sport, while Larry Bird happens to be Travis’ favorite athlete.
Travis has two notable achievements he was especially proud of, one athletic and one academic. He’s an honor roll student and was the captain for the basketball team this past season! Following graduation in May, Travis said his plans are to attend Grand Valley State University or Alma College to pursue a masters degree as a physicians assistant or a nurse practitioner.
One more side note happens to be his favorite non-sports memory. Nothing beats hanging out with the friends on a weekend, and that’s why Travis chose that as his favorite non-sports memory.

Nikki is one of our committed lacrosse players. She has been a part of the team all four years of high school. During her freshman year, she played volleyball as well!
Her favorite sports memory was when she and the ladies won the program’s first lacrosse playoff game her sophomore year against Grand Ledge. This was also very special to Nikki because she ended up scoring five goals in that game… almost a double hat trick!
Lacrosse is Nikki’s favorite sport, while Dirk Nowitzki, a basketball player on the Dallas Mavericks is her favorite athlete.
Some athletic achievements include all-conference honorable mention her junior year. She was academic all-state her junior year too! As for academic achievements, she is in the top ten in the senior class when it comes to GPA.
Following her days at LHS, Nikki would like to study biomedical engineering. The college for that? She hopes to attend The University of Southern California, although she is still undecided due to regular decision colleges not being out yet.
Although it hasn’t happened yet, Nikki believes going to El Salvador on spring break with the Interact Club will be her favorite non-sports memory.
We thank these two for their time and effort poured into the sports they’ve played as students at LHS. Best of luck to you in your future endeavors! Thank you to J-Dubb’s Signature Subs of Lowell for sponsoring our Senior Student-Athletes of the Week.
