Our female senior student-athlete of the week is Megan Summerfield! Megan has been a four year varsity softball player and was a member of the varsity golf team this year. Her favorite softball memory was hitting a grand slam during her freshman year and the celebration afterwards with her teammates and coaches. She says her favorite sport is softball, but golf is close behind!
Megan’s favorite athlete is Jennie Finch, an olympic softball player. Spending time with her women’s club mentor Jan Thompson has been her favorite non-sports memory. Megan said Jan has been a great role model and has done a lot for the Lowell community. Her athletic and academic achievements include being named team MVP, all-conference, academic all-state with the team, and earning the team sportsmanship award.

After graduating from LHS, Megan plans on attending Hope College to further her academic career and softball career. In college she plans of getting a business degree in either marketing, management, or finance.
Keigan Yuhas during the team state semifinals in 2018
Keigan is our male senior student-athlete of the week. He just recently finished as an individual wrestling state runner-up in his weight class!
He played football during his junior year and has been a four year wrestling on our wrestling team, being a part of the last four state championship teams. His favorite memory is getting treat bags from Lowell Wrestling’s #1 fan Betty Morlock as a reward for making it to individual states!
His favorite sport is wrestling and his favorite athlete is Owen Scott (NCAA Qualifier for Cornell Wrestling). Keigan is a 3 time individual state qualifier and has been on the honor roll all four years of high school. His favorite non-sports memory is sophomore Nick Korhorn’s (who also finished as a state runner-up this year) post work-out massages. After high school he plans on wrestling in college while also pursuing a degree in pharmacy.
We thank these two student athletes for their dedication to the sports they took on and all they’ve achieved in their four year period at LHS! Thank you to J-Dubb’s Signature Subs of Lowell for sponsoring our Senior Student-Athletes of the Week.
